Homebrewing Courses

Objective:

Include in the training of undergraduate students basic knowledge about the processes involved in the production of beer in artisanal scale.

Target public:

Graduate students enthusiasts of craft beers who plan to start their own homemade productions or want to delve deeper into the subject.

Programming:

  • History of beer production in Brazil and in the world;
  • Introduction to the beer production process;
  • Classification of beers;
  • Basic production equipment.
  • Physical / chemical characteristics of brewing inputs and their influence on the final product;
  • Spices – types, applications;
  • Manipulation of yeasts;
  • Fermentation, Maturation and Primming.

Methodology:

The methodology used is through lectures and the use of multimedia resources. The theoretical part of the course will be accompanied by the practical part, through the preparation of a beer “brew”, from the preparation of the recipe, the choice of ingredients, realization of every part of the manufacturing until the stage of inoculation of yeasts.
